Increase in land dispute resolutions

The Land Management Ministry yesterday announced it solved 364 out of 990 land dispute cases reported throughout the country this year, an increase when compared to last year’s 208 solved cases.

A report issued yesterday noted that the ministry’s cadastral survey commission solved 263 of the cases, while the ministry’s working group solved 101. Continue reading

Kampong Chhnang court put two land grabbers in detention

The Kampong Chhnang provincial court on Saturday ordered the detention of two suspects charged with illegal forest clearing in Rolea Ba’ier district, said the deputy provincial prosecutor Long Sitha.

“The investigating judge ordered them to be detained. I do not remember which article of the law, but it concerned the preservation of forest land,” Sitha said. Continue reading

Government reorganises land dispute resolution body

The government has reorganised the Kingdom’s land resolution body, which deals with land disputes.

According to a sub-decree signed on December 13 by Prime Minister Hun Sen, Land Management Minister Chea Sophara becomes chairman of the National Authority for Land Dispute Resolution and Khun Haing becomes his vice chairman. Continue reading
